Kaitlandia’s Artist Statement

As an artist, I am driven by the desire to express the complexity and power of women through bold, expressive art. My illustrations explore both the realms of femininity, as well as my love for living in the south west. Constantly exploring concepts that both embodies womanhood, current culture, and the sensation of southwest living.

I use bold, vibrant colors to infuse energy into my work, allowing each piece to tell a story that can be interpreted in many ways. I am constantly experimenting with different mediums and expanding my exploration of color within ideas. The imagery in my drawings blends the surreal with the real, merging elements of nature, dreamscapes, and the human form in a multifaceted nature.
