About the Artist:
Lana Scholtz plays with perception in her vivid abstract paintings. Painting variably with
gouache and oils on intimate and expansive scales, she illustrates exuberance through
layers of high chroma color. Lana’s practice is informed by speculations of novel optical
experiences, an absurd sense of humor and a general, overwhelming sense of wonder
and awe. Structured and immersive, her compositions translate sensory experiences
into dimensional and patterned fields. Lana lives and works in Albuquerque, New
Mexico.
